Pleae join me - I'm helping kick cancer's arse!

Hi friends,

This year I am finally putting my best foot forward and going to very publicly work to kick some cancer booty. I hope you’ll help me! Cancer is a sick and twisted disease that has impacted me and my family in very profound ways first by taking my mother almost 15 years ago and then my uncle just a few years back. It constantly reminds me of its power often as I watch friends and family deal with its impacts as they watch folks in their lives fight such a nasty disease.

I’m tired of it.

I have joined Team Fatty (an AMAZING Livestrong team) in Philly (just a hop, skip and a jump from DC). I will ride 100 miles (just like Lance!) and raise as much money and awareness as I can muster up between now and August 21-22, 2010. I’m doing this for my mom, my uncle and my family members who love and miss them. I'm also doing this for my friends, family and those I don't know who face cancer in some shape or form or who will in the future.

The money I raise will go to support LIVESTRONG’s programs and services, which inspire and empower people affected by cancer. If you or someone you know is diagnosed, these resources will help face the challenges of cancer, head on, and live life on your own terms. I decided to join the Livestrong Challenge above other organizations because I believe they have the resources and the reach to do great things with their money and exposure.

If you are unable to donate I understand (this is a tough year!) and appreciate your cheers and support as I race my first century ride regardless! But, if you are able to help me reach my initial goal, I would be humbled and honored and will put everything into this battle and ride my little legs off while doing so.
